Thornton Relay for Life
Trail Winds Park - 13500 Holly Street

Saturday, July 14 to Sunday, July 15, 2012

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It is a unique event offering everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of 10-15 people camp out overnight at a local school, park or fairground and take turns walking around a track or path. Each
team is asked to have a member on the track at all times during the event. Because Relay For Life is a community gathering rather than an athletic event, anyone and everyone can participate!

The American Cancer Society has created several sponsorship opportunities for the Relay For Life of Thornton, Colorado. These business opportunities offer a significant branding platform within your community, including the thousands of participants, volunteers, and spectators that attended our 2011 events.

Relay For Life of Thornton brought approximately 300 people together to celebrate survivorship while raising funds for the American Cancer Society at the summer 2011 event. With support from several dedicated teams and numerous sponsors, the Relay For Life of Thornton event raised more than $38,000! 2012 Relay For Life of Thornton are tentatively planned as follows:

WHEN: Saturday, July 14 to Sunday, July 15, 2012

WHERE: Trail Winds Park – 13500 Holly Street

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

June 23rd - 24th -

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer series is a project of the Avon Foundation for Women, a 501(c)(3) public charity. The Walks will take place in nine cities throughout 2012, covering 39 miles over the span of two days, and raising significant awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.

The Avon Walks are non-competitive weekend-long fund-raising walks for all fitness levels. Each of the nine Avon Walks across the country offer participants a choice of walking a marathon (26.2 miles) or a marathon and a half (39.3 miles) over a weekend.

The Avon Foundation awards the funds raised to local, regional and national breast cancer organizations that help men and women get the medical care they need - regardless of their ability to pay - and accelerates the work of leading research teams in their quest for improved prevention, detection and treatment, and ultimately a cure for breast cancer.
